We are all Beautiful

another artist that i love and would love to own a piece of this... Alberto Giacometti's skinny funny people...

skinny proportions, dark, exaggerated forms.

reminds me of how people' fears and obsessions are .. and how we all have portions of our bodies that we may or may not like. reminds me of fashion and how people can get crazy about being skinny.. big butts, or if your hands or feet are too big..

WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL....no matter what shape or form.
Giacometti embraces this.

VIKTOR n ROLF

Managed to also stop by the London Barbican to see the Viktor and Rolf exhibit with their work since 93. their work is a blend of in your face humor and irony...with surreal beauty...

the retrospective was done in the form of porcelain dolls ..bit eerie to see life size dolls with clothes as well as detailed minatures.... but quirky and beautiful at the same time...

setting - a dolls house.. each room hosts one of their previous season's collections...

until the 21st September

HANOI

I love the way this name sounds.... the people are beautiful, the city is a magnificent blend and it was a perfect stop for a quick getaway.

1 1/2hrs from Hong Kong and you can be in another world. It's raw yet it has found its own way from all of the varying degrees of western and eastern influences over the years.

There is a rich beauty to be found here. Part unethical... and there is a strong local entrepeneurial spirit here and a certain refinement from the french amongst some parts...yet somehow over the years the fruits of all of these different blends have turned it into a place that has become what it is today. There are still struggles, simplicity of finding the right parts to live side by side.

can't wait to go back.... here's a few of my favs

Big bridge on the famous lake.....only it's quite small

carved wood stamp galore

get up and open for biz

beautiful skinny TUBES.. leading to courtyards of houses..

crazy wires everywhere...overland between trees across streets... total fire hazard..
and it's a tad scarey when the storms come..
