WORK JUNKIE

  • Well its been the week of the WORK JUNKIE since coming back from Berlin... this week flew by soo damn fast that it is amazing how things fly...

when i landed a few dayz ago in HK...i was gonna bypass especially when i saw the floods and the water in sheung WAN...WAAAAAH.. maad mudslide....in other areas...lucky no one was seriously hurt i hope.

funny how news can be a shocker when u have spent 12 hrs on a plane.. and the news is a day old...

Got off the plane.. and just muggy , hot and sticky...
for dayz like this.. i like being in china.... drier... the rain followed though.

friday the 13th... was thinking what a day that its been chucking buckets.... studio demolitian..amazing how fast something in china can go up and COME DOWN...hellos and goodbyes.

trying to sort out a new work space.. and its mind boggling how much crap u can accumulate,.. i need a personal assistant just to sort and organise ME.

Fall season is well underway...lots of editorials and photoshoots going on right now.. we just launched resort collection .. and it was very 50's Good LIFe..sick how the fashion calendar is unrealistically far ahead of reality....

here's a few tasters from our Patio partay in NYC..for the resort launch..

sooooo glad that one is done.. .now onto Spring collection....

xoxo outta here for the weekend!!!

BERLIN in 2 dayz

OKAY ALL.... back from a quick get away in Berlin...here are my fav's...
spent some time with some good friends.. and their gorgeous.. 5th floor apartment... yes a WALKUP... and it nearly killed me..for friends that KNOW me... elevator is the waaaay to go!!.. but i have been known to walk.. haha... but worth it for a view full of greenery and sunshine... rare sight in HK... actually rare sight in NYC too...its something very european....

full of beautiful buildings.. surely this is a place i could escape..and shop... lots of very cool boutiques..

Couldn't resist this one...

..and this one reminds me of SHANG

Cool streets

My favorite shop is in a courtyard.....thru the archway...old..leafy.. and the entire building belongs to an old jewish family now residing in NYC... most of it is almost falling apart but residents rent only and fix them up.... old world charm

vintage shack that used to be a flower shop...its a metal container revamped in wood panels...

Beergardens are all the rage... and the berliner's famous drink.. made from woodruff... tasted like green soda....hmm

and one of their famous dishes... white aparagus, breaded porkchop and parsley potatoes... VERY simple and Yummy

Street art crews.. here are a few that i found quite humorous..

astronaut..

flea markets... gorg covered hangers.... has IKEA found their way to these yet???
this flea market is also HOT for sunglasses....LOTS and lots... sorry.. i got so carried away.. i forgot to take photos for you!!

MAC FANS..

and this one is for Narom...

A quick stop at WOlfgang Tillman's exhibit amongst others...if you are in the neighbourhood.. go check it out...

finally the BErLIN WALL remains.... surprisingly low... but the thought of peoople getting shot along this wall also haunts me...

extension of the Berlin war memorial...

this is the church that got rebuilt.. it lays between east and west..its very cool inside and the light filters amazingly well....

thats it.... now back to work...!

YVES SAINT LAURENT - FASHION GODFATHER

Just wanted to bring your attention to this.. for the ones that don't know.. time to pay homage to one of the fashion greats.. YVES SAINT LAURENT. He passed away on Sunday aged 71 from a brain tumour. 1936 - 2008

He was one of the first and super famous for it to put women in pants and tuxedos...THE SMOKING jacket...he was extremely influential couturier and created an iconic strong confident woman through his work.
Sad to lose one of the fashion couture greats. He has been with us since the 50's, started his own couture house in his name in 1962..prior he worked as the successor of Christian Dior.

Much of his work has ended up today influencing many designers - safari jackets, tuxedo dressing, .he was one of the first to look at youth and street culture and in turn translates thru to everyone and the masses.. He believed in evolution not revolution.. in fashion.. the classics.
A true genius.
