THe Story of the DRESS...

When a very good girl friend of mine announced she would be getting married.... i was totally so happy for her, as wedding plans went ahead.. the journey led to many discussions, shopping trips to try and find that perfect dress... contributions from her closest friends and her massive experience of attending so many weddings - i offered to make her wedding dress. It was both a pleasure and joy to be able to do this for a special once in a lifetime experience. What started as a seemingly simple dress project.... has a long journey to share with you all.

For the past few months we have been working away at the dress... and watching it come to life... is amazing. So here i am sharing a few of those key moments with you - and let you into my world of Peony Rice.

A few of the more fav Sketch concepts....

Then back to the drawing board....
The FINAL ONE...

the details of the construction....corsetry, structure..all the components to hold a girl in...

The first prototype...and modifications - we wanted to see the drape and shape of the dress.
Checking it inside and out to make sure all was looking good.......We added a fun polka inside the dress lining......

Cambodian silk made by the Artisans D' Angkor

First fittings - nerve wrecking as we unveiled the dress for the very first time to the bride to be....no one had seen this up until this point...

Minor Modifications...for that perfect fit and last minute squeeze!!
Final fittings a month later!

after the first set of changes were made - we wanted to make sure that this dress was to be as perfect as possible.... last minute 11th hour changes for the dress...this is Mr Chen - our wonderful Patternmaker and tailor...added more tulle.....fixed a few pleats, and if by magic.... we were on the point of no return.... week to go before the wedding..and we sent the dress off with the bride!

The beautiful bride on the day... getting ready for the entrance...
